For the last few days we're discussing Sabrina's gorgeous performance in China, and we almost forgot about another exciting event - Sabrina's acting debut in the "L&O"!As you may already know, back in December 2010 Sabrina filmed in NYC for a show called Law and Order SVU. It's Season 12 Episode 12 called "Possessed". In this episode she has a speaking part too which is pretty exciting since it's her first acting job.
The new episode was expected to air Jan 12, but it got moved to this Wednesday Jan 5th at 9pm on NBC. So be sure to tune in! About the Episode:~"A young man finds that his girlfriend Larissa Welsh has been attacked in her apartment with evidence that points to her buried past. Detectives Benson and Stabler go in search of her attacker and discover that an elderly man, Orville Underwood, may have been involved in traumatic events of Welsh's past. For the detectives, solving the case comes down to who was in possession of the evidence."~~Ivan

Thanks a lot for that download link! Was that the whole scene where she was in - so she was only in the episode for 1:35?

.... so she was only in the episode for 1:35? Yep, but that's still quite a big role as for the first time... Since Sabrina keeps doing auditions I hope we'll see her on the screen again soon ~Ivan

I was prepared to watch Sabrina on "Law & Order: SVU" but the schedule change forced me to record it for later viewing. I wanted to view the whole episode without interruptions and I managed to do that.
While I like the show, I have to confess I'm a bit of a prude and some of the topics strayed a bit away from my interests. Except for a couple, the actors on the show are excellent and the show does a great job of keeping your interest by moving the plot along.
The topic of this two-episode special, starring Sabrina Carpenter, is gritty. I have more to say about that below but, first, I watched and waited to see Sabrina. We've seen Sabrina "act" before but this is, as far as I know and I could be wrong, her first professional acting gig.
When I saw the folder with Sabrina's mug shot I thought, "I hope that isn't all." That's a bit of humor because I knew Sabrina would not get us all worked up over a mug shot.
Sure enough, Sabrina's segment came on.
First, she looked really good even though the topic was grim. I thought to myself, "Well, Christopher, you've got your work cut out for you this time." Because Sabrina really does "capture" a scene. This has always been one of the wonders about her -- if she's in the frame, she's the center of that frame.
And, boy, did she play the role really well. It took me a while to finish the whole episode because I kept going back and replaying Sabrina's scene. This is a real pro at work. Her age doesn't matter anymore. There is a group of young actors, many all of you know, who represent the cream of the crop. Sabrina Carpenter is one of them. We've seen Sabrina do "funny" videos and I've always thought she had good comic timing. But now we've seen Sabrina do some "real serious" acting and it is clear she can do that just as well.
Which sort of creates a dilemma for me.
I've always thought of Sabrina as a singer ... and, lately, a "performer" although I still think she can belt out a rollicking song like few can. Now I have to view her as an actress, too. Singer-performer-actress. Will she have two shelves, one for her Grammys and one for her Oscars?
I will never be able to understand how anyone can hurt a child. It doesn't matter if the damage is emotional, physical or both -- it has to be the worst crime a human can commit. Perhaps this episode, "Possessed", will shine some light on a creepy side of humanity. If good comes out of it, and I believe there will be some, then Sabrina can also take some pride in helping make a serious problem much better. She can add "socially aware" to her resume, too.
