hey, i want to join the contest, but i dont know wich size the picture should be [for example 800x600 pixels] does anyone know that?

A web background can actually be just about any size -- if it is small, then it is simply repeated across and down (or, in some cases, stretched to fit).
If you want a very detailed background graphic, 800x600 is acceptable but it can also be larger (in which case it is shrunk to fit).
One important note: please save the graphic as a .jpg or .png graphics file -- this keeps the size reasonable. You can submit your candidate graphic either by attaching it (using the Attachment) option when you post or by posting it at one of the many free graphic hosting sites and then linking to it. You can also use the .gif format but the final file size must be less than 1 MB.
